Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are keen on acquiring the services of the 20-year-old TSG Hoffenheim striker Max Beier.
According to a report by Christian Falk via TBR Football, Liverpool are interested in signing Max Beier. The 20-year-old striker has been doing wonders in the Bundesliga and there is a lot of interest in his services.
Beier joined TSG Hoffenheim back in the summer of 2018. He came through the ranks at the club and made it to their first team in 2020. After a season with their first team, the German club decided to send him out on a two-year-long loan.
During his loan spell at Hannover 96, he featured in 68 matches and managed to find the back of the net on 22 occasions. It wasn’t just the goal contributions that caught the eye, the 20-year-old’s pace certainly impressed a few people.
Beier is amongst the fastest players in the league with a top speed of 35.45 km/h. According to the report, he is faster than Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior. His exceptional abilities and recent form since returning to his parent club have been sensational and on the back of it Liverpool are interested in the 20-year-old.
In the 2023-24 season, he has featured in six league games and has contributed towards five goals. He has found the back of the net once and also has assist to his name.
The Merseyside club are looking to sign another forward as they look to bolster their attack. Jurgen Klopp wants more depth in attack and he is keen on having Beier in his ranks as the German youth international is amongst the fastest and Klopp loves to have pacey wingers out wide.
Liverpool have already signed two young talents from the Bundesliga Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai. Both are in exceptional form and are stars in the making. And, as things stand they are ready to sign another Bundesliga star in Beier.
According to Christian Falk, there is a release clause in the 20-year-old forward’s TSG Hoffenheim contract that runs until the summer of 2025. The release clause is worth £17 million for German clubs while it will just a touch more for the English clubs. Given his recent form, Liverpool would be willing to invest such a figure to sign the Germany Under-21 star.
Christian Falk said: “Another name on Liverpool’s list is Maximilian Beier of Hoffenheim – I heard he’s definitely on the list, as he brings something that’s very interesting for Liverpool! His high speed this season was 35.45 km/h. It’s also really good for Germany; he’s the second-fastest German player behind Leroy Sane. His contract at Hoffenheim runs until 2025 and I heard he has a release clause; he’ll be a little bit more expensive for English clubs but for German clubs he’ll only cost €20m. So you see, Liverpool are looking around at the Bundesliga again,”
“He’s a player you can educate, fast, can play as a striker as well as on the wings, which would be beneficial for Liverpool’s rotations in the forward line. I think he’s interesting. He could be the next German national player, perhaps not in the coming matches, but he’ll be in the national team. He’s not very expensive, which would fit into Liverpool’s business model. Keep in mind, though, that Brentford and Everton’s interest in the player is concrete.”
Falk believes Beier could be a perfect fit for the Merseyside club given his play style as well as the price involved in a potential transfer. But, they are well aware of the interest in his services from elsewhere and wouldn’t want to lose out on him.
