Real Madrid will reportedly look to sign 17-year-old Argentine attacking Gianluca Prestianni from Velez Sarsfield next year.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Gianluca Prestianni is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The Merengues want to continue their outlook of investing in young prospects. And the 17-year-old Velez Sarsfield attacking sensation is the latest prodigy to emerge on their radar.
Gianluca Prestianni is the latest in the long list of Argentine talents to emanate in the last few years. The 17-year-old has risen through the ranks at Velez Sarsfield, a club that tends to produce eye-catching prospects. And he broke into the first-team squad as a 16-year-old in May 2022.
The Argentine sensation is primarily a right-winger who can also make his mark on the left flank. Prestianni is not prolific yet but has been a regular for Velez Sarsfield this season, managing three goals in 31 appearances across all competitions. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed, with Real Madrid among his prospective suitors.
Prestianni’s progress first captured the attention of high-profile clubs last year, with Barcelona showing interest in him. But the young winger also emerged as a target for Real Madrid, with the club continuing to monitor his progress. Reports last year even insisted Los Blancos had opened talks to sign him.
But those suggestions seem wide of the mark, with Real Madrid still closely monitoring his progress instead of making a move to secure his services. Nonetheless, the club’s interest in the player is understandable, considering Carlo Ancelotti does not have many attackers in his squad.
Real Madrid only signed Joselu to bolster the offensive unit this past summer. Considering they lost multiple attackers, their decision not to go all out might hurt them. So, it behoves Real Madrid to invest in a young attacker heading into the 2024 summer transfer window.
Prestianni will have turned 18 by the time the transfer window reopens next summer. So, they can potentially bring him to the Santiago Bernabeu ahead of the 2024/25 season. For now, they are tracking the Argentine prodigy’s progress, with a bid on the cards.
