Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are interested in acquiring the services of the 23-year-old RB Leipzig striker Lois Openda.
According to a report by Fichajes, Arsenal are keen on having Lois Openda in their ranks. The 23-year-old striker has been in sensational form for RB Leipzig in the ongoing season, and the Gunners want to land him as they look to bolster their attack. The Belgian striker has a €70 million release clause in his contract with the Bundesliga club.
Openda joined Lens in the summer of 2022. He went on to have a dream debut season for the French club. In his 38 Ligue 1 matches, he found the back of the net on 21 occasions and even bagged four assists.
His impressive performances attracted a lot of attention and just a year after joining the French club, RB Leipzig managed to acquire his services. The Bundesliga outfit signed him in the recently concluded summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old has once again hit the ground running. He has featured in ten matches for Leipzig and has managed to contribute towards seven goals. His impressive start has not gone unnoticed, with recent reports linking him with Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are one of the clubs who have been watching him closely. They are quite impressed with the 23-year-old’s performances and would love to have him in their ranks.
The Gunners want to win major titles and they have been looking to bolster their squad at every possible opportunity. They signed quite a few quality players in the summer, but Mikel Arteta is still keen on attacking reinforcement.
