Real Madrid might look to sign disgruntled Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, with the 24-year-old unhappy at the Serie A club.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Victor Osimhen is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The 24-year-old striker is unhappy at Napoli after the Serie A club’s TikTok account posted some distasteful videos featuring him. The Merengues are thus keeping tabs on his situation at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
Victor Osimhen has established himself as one of the best attackers in Serie A since joining Napoli from LOSC Lille in September 2020. The Nigerian international experienced some teething problems at the Serie A club. But he has not looked back since finding his feet, becoming a pivotal figure for the Partenopei.
The 24-year-old was the top scorer in Serie A as Napoli won the Scudetto after more than three decades last season. Osimhen has also started the 2023/24 campaign well, managing four goals and one assist in seven appearances thus far. But the player’s future at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium is uncertain.
The Serie A club’s TikTok account recently posted some distasteful videos featuring the former Lille striker. Those posts have rubbed the player the wrong way, with his agent expressing his anger at the situation. So, Osimhen’s long-term Napoli future is uncertain, with the update capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Real Madrid.
Reports this week have suggested that Chelsea will also track Osimhen’s situation at Napoli. But the Blues might not stand a chance if he becomes a top target for Real Madrid. Meanwhile, Los Blancos can do with a player of his qualities after choosing not to sign a replacement for Karim Benzema this past summer.
Kylian Mbappe is Real Madrid’s top target for the 2024 summer transfer window. But there are brewing concerns surrounding the Frenchman, who might sign a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain. So, Osimhen has emerged as a viable target for Real Madrid to pursue ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Interestingly, Real Madrid rejected the chance to secure Osimhen’s services in the summer transfer window. But it will not be surprising to see the 24-year-old become Los Blancos’ top target if his situation does not improve at Napoli.
