Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma are interested in acquiring the services of 23-year-old Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho.
According to a report by Romanista, AS Roma are keen on having Jadon Sancho in their ranks. The 23-year-old has recently had a rift with his Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag and will most likely look to part ways with the club in the winter. The Italian club are well aware of the situation and they are ready to push for his services.
Sancho came through the ranks at Manchester City but failed to break into their first team. Things got back on track for the England international after he joined Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2017. After four successful years at the German club, Manchester United paid a big fee to sign him.
Post his arrival in England in 2021, he was expected to take the Premier League by storm. But, the 26-year-old has failed to live up to the expectations. He has failed to get going. Things went from bad to worse after he was left out of their squad for the game against Arsenal.
Erik ten Hag was asked about the decision. The Dutch manager said that the 23-year-old wasn’t training well enough and that was the reason for his absence. However, the player took to social media and said that he has been used as a scapegoat.
Sancho’s response didn’t go down well with the manager as well as the club. Post that rift, United were ready to reinstate him in their first team if he was ready to apologise to Ten Hag. But, the 23-year-old has no intentions of doing so.
As a result, he is unlikely to have much game time at United. The Red Devils are planning to sell him to the highest bidder in January in order to recoup a part of their investment made while signing him.
Roma are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks. Jose Mourinho who is a huge admirer of Sancho believes he could bolster their attack. As a result, he wants the 23-year-old in his ranks. The Portuguese manager has asked his club to sign him and they are now ready to go all out for his services.
Sancho’s arrival will make them a lot more threatening going forward. And, it could help them push for important titles. As a result, they want to sign him at all costs. However, they do not have the financial situation to pull off such a deal. But, having already added Romelu Lukaku to their mix, the Italian club will be confident of striking a deal for the 23-year-old United forward.
