Everton looking to sign Adnan Januzaj

Everton are considering bringing Adnan Januzaj back to the Premier League

According to Fichajes, Premier League side Everton are considering a swoop for former Manchester United man Adnan Januzaj in the upcoming January transfer window.

The 28-year-old came through the ranks at Brussels and Anderlecht before getting his first senior break at Manchester United. While he showed initial moments of promise, it failed to see him fulfil his potential and develop into a regular starter at Old Trafford.

After a series of unsuccessful loan spells, the Belgian was sold to Real Sociedad in 2017 where he went on to salvage his career. Now at Sevilla, the Premier League might once again be calling for the 28-year-old to make the move.

Everton are keen on landing Januzaj and could pounce should Sevilla release him for a free in the January transfer window. The Toffees have been in touch with the player’s entourage and have been given enough encouragement to suggest that a winter agreement might be possible.

Januzaj has failed to make an impact at Sevilla and the Spanish club are ready to cut their losses on him. As things stand, Everton are the only club offering him a way out and the Toffees will hope to get a deal over the line before another team jumps in at the 11th hour.

A versatile attacker who can not just play out wide on the wings but also as an attacking midfielder, Januzag still has enough in his tank to provide the Toffees with options. Sean Dyche’s side have struggled for goals this season and unless they can rediscover their mojo, a third successive season fighting relegation could be on the cards.

While the Merseysiders can do with more reliable options, their financial situation makes going big in January more or less impossible. Januzag is the best of a bad bunch of options and the onus is on Dyche to make his move and hopefully work some magic.

The Belgian is a pale shadow of the player who broke out at Manchester United and is inconsistent, to say the least. However, he is still capable of moments of magic, something Everton will hope will once again see them safe from the humiliation of relegation.
