Barcelona are all set to battle it out with Tottenham Hotspur for the signatures of 21-year-old KAA Gent striker Gift Orban.
According to a report by the Fichajes, Barcelona are planning to bolster their attack next summer and have their eyes set on Gift Orban. The 21-year-old has been on fire in the Belgian Pro League and the Catalan giants are keen on having him in their ranks. But, they will have to battle it out with Tottenham Hotspur for his services.
Orban joined Gent in January this year from Stabaek. He has gone from strength to strength since joining the Belgian club. The 21-year-old striker has featured in a total of 32 matches for Gent and already has 28 goal contributions to his name.
As far as the ongoing season is concerned, the Nigerian international has six goals in 10 outings. He has been in sensational form and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed. Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks.
Spurs are in desperate need of a new striker. They parted ways with their record goal scorer Harry Kane in the summer and post that didn’t go big to sign a new number nine. While they have trusted Richarlison to take over as the club’s new striker, the London club are still on the lookout for a new forward.
They want to sign someone who is young and can be the leader of their attack for years to come. Spurs believe Gift Orban could be a great fit for the club. But, it won’t be easy to land him at the club because they will have to battle it out with Barcelona for his services.
The Catalan giants have been on the lookout for a new forward who could eventually replace Robert Lewandowski. The Polish international is in the twilight of his career and people at the club want to ensure they have a forward ready to take over from the 35-year-old.
Barcelona have their eyes on Gift Orban as they believe he can help bolster their attack in the short term and could eventually take over from Lewandowski. While they have already acquired the services of Vitor Roque, they want to add the 21-year-old Nigerian striker before the 2024-25 season.
