Kevin De Bruyne has no intention to leave Manchester City in the coming period as he is uninterested in any big-money move.
According to The Sun, Kevin De Bruyne has no interest in leaving his current surroundings for a bigger payday. The Manchester City veteran wants to end his career at the Etihad and is open to snubbing some big-money overtures from Saudi Arabia.
Money, a bigger payday and a move to Saudi Arabia have all dominated the summer transfer market. The Saudi Pro League managed to snap up a few prominent names from Europe to join their teams and make a massive salary over their time there.
In reality, the Saudi clubs only managed to sign a few players in their prime or around that age group, while the rest of the big names were all coming to the twilights of their careers. One of those they signed at a relatively decent age was Manchester City’s Aymeric Laporte, who joined Al Nassr.
Apart from him, the other big names who joined may have been coming to the end of their top-level careers in Europe, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Neymar and N’Golo Kante. They also managed to sign Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez, but beyond that, only the likes of Ruben Neves’s move had some raised eyebrows.
Sticking to Manchester City, they may have more approaches for their star man Kevin De Bruyne. The Manchester City veteran seemingly had no interest in making a big-money switch to the Middle East or elsewhere, as he plans to end his career at the Etihad.
Since joining Manchester City in 2015, De Bruyne has gone on to make over 350 appearances in all competitions, winning many trophies along the way. He has also contributed with a healthy goals and assists record, which has propelled Pep Guardiola’s side to new heights.
There is already talk of a new deal with the Cityzens, although nothing is agreed so far. De Bruyne has a young, settled family in Manchester and will not want to move about yet. He sees himself finishing his career with Manchester City, which may see him sign a new deal.
Signing the Manchester City veteran would have been a major coup for the Saudis during the summer window. But the Belgian international never opened the door towards such a move. Already the club’s top earner, he could make even more when he pens the new contract.
Hence, Manchester City fans can relax about the prospect of De Bruyne leaving the club as they, too, would love to see him end his time here. The attacking midfielder remains sidelined with a serious hamstring injury since the opening weekend but will resume playing around the new year.
