Wolves rebuff Fulham enquiry for Sasa Kalajdzic

Wolves have rebuffed an approach from Fulham for their 26-year-old striker Sasa Kalajdzic as they see him as an essential part.

According to Evening Standard, Fulham have seen their efforts to sign Sasa Kalajdzic knocked back by the Wolves. The Midlands side are not keen to sell two strikers in the same window to one Premier League team and consider the 26-year-old striker as their main frontman.

Fulham are trying to make some moves late in the window as they have lost some significant players in this window. Marco Silva considered the need to replace departed striker Aleksandar Mitrovic an essential piece of business and still have not done anything about it.

The Serb left for a new challenge in Saudi Arabia, with Fulham receiving a significant sum from his sale. So far, they have not made great efforts to bring in a new striker. Instead, they have sold key midfielder Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich.

They remain linked with replacement options, with AS Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana one of their targets, while others could pop on this list before the transfer deadline. They may have thought about bringing in a new frontman in the background.

As per the report, the Cottagers tried to make an approach for Wolves striker Sasa Kalajdzic. The Midlands side are not keen to sell two strikers to the same Premier League rival, especially in the same window. They had already sold Raul Jimenez, who was then seen as a potential replacement for Mitrovic.

Meanwhile, Kalajdzic technically only started playing for Wolves this season after suffering an ACL injury last season on his debut. The idea to deny Fulham a shot at Kalajdzic may have also stemmed from Southampton blocking a loan move for Che Adams earlier today.

Fulham will remain active and may focus on another striker before tonight’s transfer deadline. There are a few options on the market for them to consider, but is there enough time to make the right signing? Wolves also have the funds to make a few signings after the sale of Matheus Nunes to Manchester City. They also need a new striker, having not sufficiently replaced the now-departed Jimenez.
