Bayern Munich’s 21-year-old sensation Ryan Gravenberch is close to joining Premier League giants Liverpool.
According to Loic Tanzi, Liverpool are closing in on the signatures of Ryan Gravenberch. The 21-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move away from Bayern Munich throughout the transfer window and he could end up joining the Merseyside club on the deadline day.
Gravenberch came through the ranks at the famous youth academy of Ajax. He made it to their first team back in the summer of 2019 and went from strength to strength over the next few seasons.
After putting in some impressive performances for the Dutch giants, Bayer Munich came calling and he moved to Germany last summer. In the 2022-23 season, the 21-year-old was involved in a total of 33 matches. While he was involved in quite a few games, the Dutch youth international was mainly used as a sub and was on the pitch for less than 1,000 minutes.
The limited game time didn’t please him and he has been considering his future for a while now. Gravenberch wants assurance regarding his game time at Bayern but the club haven’t made it clear to him yet. As a result, he has been on the radar of quite a few teams from across Europe.
The 21-year-old has been on the pitch for just nine minutes in the new season suggesting that he is way down the pecking order at the club. As a result, a move before the end of the transfer window is a real possibility and Liverpool seems to be a possible destination for the former Ajax midfielder. According to reports, Bayern Munich are looking for around £30 million for the services of Gravenberch.
Meanwhile, the Merseyside are keen on having him in their ranks. They have been on the lookout for a new midfielder for a while now. The departure of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho has left a huge void in the centre of the park.
While they have signed Wataru Endo, they are still keen on adding another midfielder to the mix. Jurgen Klopp is looking for a younger option, someone who can help them in the long run. And, Gravenberch can surely be a great addition to their ranks.
The Reds have been in talks with Bayern of late and according to Tanzi, the 21-year-old is close to joining the English club. He was absent from their training earlier this morning suggesting a move could be on the cards.
