West Ham United have established contacts with Paris Saint-Germain as they look to sign their 21-year-old forward Hugo Etikite.
According to a report by L’Equipe, West Ham United are keen on having Hugo Etikite in their ranks. The Hammers have established contacts with Paris Saint-Germain over a potential deal for the 21-year-old forward.
Etikite joined PSG last summer on loan from Stade Reims. He came through the ranks at Reims and made it to their first team in the summer of 2021. After an impressive season with his childhood club, PSG decided to bring him in on loan with an option to buy that would become an obligation depending on their league position.
The move became permanent after the end of the 2022-23 season but the French club are already looking to part ways with the 21-year-old. He hasn’t had the kind of impact that they expected and are now ready to offload him as they look to build their attack from scratch after the departure of Lionel Messi and Neymar.
Last season, he was involved in a total of 32 matches and racked up just under 1400 minutes. The French international even contributed towards eight goals but his performances were not enough to convince the people at PSG.
While the French giants were looking to offer him to Eintracht Frankfurt in a player-plus-cash deal for the services of Randal Kolo Muani, there is a lot of interest from West Ham in his services. The Hammers are keen on adding more firepower to their ranks and believe the 21-year-old could be a great fit for the club.
They have already established contacts with PSG over a potential deal. Both clubs are in talks as the Hammers look to secure his services. The London club are looking to initially sign him on a season-long loan with an option to make the deal permanent for €35 million.
While the Hammers didn’t do much business in the first half of the transfer window, they have been very active of late. And, are expected to push hard for the French international’s services.
