Premier League giants Manchester United and Liverpool are leading the race for the signatures of Ryan Gravenberch.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool and Manchester United are both interested in the services of Ryan Gravenberch. The 21-year-old midfielder hasn’t had the best of times since joining Bayern Munich and could be on his way out in the ongoing transfer window.
Gravenberch came through the ranks at Ajax and made a name for himself while playing for their first team before joining Bayern last summer. Since making the move to Germany, he has featured in a total of 33 matches but has been on the pitch for less than 1,000 minutes.
He has found himself way down the pecking order at Bayern and is not happy with the limited game time he has had so far. Things are unlikely to change in the 2023-24 season as Joshua Kimmich, Konrad Laimer and Leon Goretzka are ahead of him in the pecking order under Thomas Tuchel.
The Dutch international is keen on cementing his spot in the national team for EURO 2024 and wants regular football to ensure he doesn’t miss out on the opportunity. As a result, he is pushing for a move to the Premier League according to a report by 90min.
While the player is keen on making a move away from the club, Tuchel is keen on having him in his squad. And, people at the club are not ready to sanction his departure.
However, things can happen in the coming weeks with Gravenberch seeking regular first-team action. Meanwhile, Liverpool and Manchester United are keen on having him in their ranks.
Erik ten Hag wants to reunite with the 21-year-old who has worked under him at Ajax. The Dutch boss is looking to reinforce his midfield before the end of the window and the Dutch international is very high on United’s target list.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are also desperate for reinforcement in the centre of the park. They haven’t had the best of times in the transfer market of late. The Merseyside club have missed out on key targets and are looking to sign a world-class midfielder before the end of the window.
Jurgen Klopp’s men believe the 21-year-old could be a great fit for the club. While United and Liverpool are both keen on his services, they are looking for a loan move with a buy option. Meanwhile, Bayern are not ready to sell but even if they do sanction his exit, they will look for a permanent switch as Tuchel wants to sign a new number six with the funds raised.
