Manchester City could use their 21-year-old sensation Cole Palmer in a part-exchange deal to sign West Ham United midfielder Lucas Paqueta.
According to a report by Football Insider, Manchester City are keen on having Lucas Paqueta in their ranks before the end of the transfer window. The 25-year-old attacking midfielder has been doing wonders in the Premier League and Pep Guardiola wants him in his ranks.
City have been making moves to sign him but they haven’t succeeded yet. The Manchester-based club submitted an offer of over £70 million earlier this week for the Brazilian sensation but it has been rejected by the Hammers.
They are not going to let him leave unless their asking price is met. Meanwhile, Manchester City are not ready to give up on their pursuit of the 25-year-old West Ham midfielder.
Pep Guardiola’s team are considering putting forward a part exchange deal in hopes of getting the asking price down. The Manchester-based club are ready to offer their 21-year-old sensation Cole Palmer in a deal that will see Paqueta join them. Meanwhile, the 25-year-old is keen on joining City and has already agreed personal terms with them.
Palmer won’t be making a permanent move to the Hammers. He has huge potential and is a part of City’s plans in the long run. But, they are still willing to let him leave on loan.
City are ready to let the 21-year-old join the Hammers on loan for the 2023-24 season alongside a huge sum of fee in order to land the 25-year-old Brazilian attacking midfielder at the club.
Palmer has been linked to a move away from the club throughout the summer because of his lack of game time last season. He played less than 1000 minutes last season and contributed towards just two goals in his 25 outings.
The 21-year-old wants more game time and a loan to the Hammers would surely be great for his progress. Meanwhile, Paqueta has been a key figure under David Moyes since joining the Hammers for £51 million from Lyon last summer.
West Ham have already sold Declan Rice in the summer, as a result, it won’t be easy for them to let the 25-year-old leave the club. But, with Palmer now a part of the deal, it will be interesting to see how the Hammers react.
