Fulham made an offer to Adama Traore to sign the free agent, with Marco Silva keen to add quality depth.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Fulham have already submitted their offer to Adama Traore in an attempt to sign the free agent. The 27-year-old Spanish international left Wolves after his contract expired and could make an imminent decision on his future.
Premier League clubs will enter a phase in the transfer window when they start looking out for squad improvement options. The earlier part will focus on strengthening the first eleven, but the idea of squad depth will soon hit hard and become an important issue.
Fulham are already in the process of securing many names and remains hopeful of getting their business done well in time before the window shuts. Marco Silva would have liked to bring in key players early in the window, but the club were seemingly embroiled in many controversies.
With things like Silva’s and Aleksandar Mitrovic’s future now settled, the manager would like a few options to improve his squad. Demarai Gray is close to joining Fulham from Everton amid talks about Willian’s possible departure to Saudi Arabia.

Irrespective of the Brazilian leaving, Silva wanted options he could use to change the team occasionally. Keeping the same starting eleven for a team like Fulham could become a predictable problem. They also want Chelsea Callum Hudson-Odoi and would like the transfer over the line soon.
Meanwhile, they have shown interest in free agent Adama Traore. The 27-year-old Spanish international remains one of the fastest players in the Premier League and will improve any team.
His time at Wolves became subdued in the last few years. That could have been due to the below-par system that played against Traore’s strengths. He also had a short yet underwhelming spell at boyhood club Barcelona before, but it did not work out.
Aston Villa were also interested earlier and may look at him after Emi Buendia’s loss to a severe knee injury. However, Fulham have taken the first steps towards the 27-year-old Spanish international by making an offer.
Fabrizio Romano states the idea of joining the Londoners tempts Traore, and the deal has moved into the advanced stages. Fulham could have the upper hand in negotiations, and soon Traore could feature for them.
He’s a good signing from Fulham’s perspective, as he adds the unpredictable element currently missing from their squad. Whether he can revive his career here remains the question, but he could have an eventful season ahead.
