Leeds United plotting Brandon Williams move

Leeds United are reportedly hoping to sign Brandon Williams from Manchester United this summer.

A report from The Independent claims that Leeds United are hoping to sign versatile 22-year-old Manchester United defender Brandon Williams before the summer transfer window closes.

Williams has previously worked under Leeds United manager Daniel Farke at Norwich City. So it is no surprise that the newly-appointed Leeds boss is looking for a reunion. The versatile wide man has found it hard to play regular first-team football at Manchester United. So it makes sense for him to move on in search of regular playing time.

The 22-year-old is highly rated and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for Leeds. The Whites have been relegated to the Championship following a dismal campaign in the Premier League and they will look to bounce back strongly.

Leeds will be hoping to get back to the Premier League next summer, and signings like Williams will certainly improve them. Farke has previously helped Norwich City get promoted, and he will be expected to make an immediate impact at Elland Road as well.

There is no doubt that Leeds have a talented squad at their disposal, and it remains to be seen whether Farke can get the best out of his players. Meanwhile, the Whites have also shown interest in another Manchester United prospect in Amad Diallo.

Williams will be desperate to prove himself at the highest level, and the opportunity to showcase his qualities on a regular basis at Leeds could be a tempting opportunity. The 22-year-old is versatile enough to operate as a full-back on either flank. He could prove to be a useful acquisition for Leeds United if they can sign him for a reasonable price.

Meanwhile, Manchester United need to raise some funds in order to get their transfers across the line. They have been linked with a move for Sofyan Amrabat. And the report from the Independent claims that Manchester United will have to raise £50 million in order to get a deal for the Moroccan international done.

The departure of Williams will certainly boost Manchester United’s transfer coffers and help them bring in their own signings. Williams is unlikely to get regular opportunities at Old Trafford next season, and it makes sense for both parties to go separate ways.
