Everton are closing in on the signing of 21-year-old Almeria striker El Bilal Toure.
According to Football Insider, Premier League side Everton are gaining steam in their pursuit of Almeria striker El Bilal Toure in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old came through the senior ranks at French side Reims and moved to the Power Horse Stadium in 2022. He has since made 22 appearances for the La Liga club, scoring seven goals and assisting two more across all competitions.
Toure’s performances have not gone unnoticed with Everton eyeing him this summer. The Toffees have flirted with relegation the last couple of seasons and will hope for better fortunes in the 2023/24 campaign.
Serie A giants Atalanta are also interested in the Malian international and can offer the striker a better quality of football than at Goodison Park. La Dea could lose star striker Rasmus Hojlund to Manchester United or Paris Saint-Germain, potentially opening the road for Toure to replace him.
The Merseysiders are also in the same boat and are dealing with the losses of Richarlison and Anthony Gordon in recent transfer windows. With Dominic Calvert-Lewin struggling with fitness, it is a challenge for Sean Dyche to deploy a reliable goalscorer on a regular basis.
A strong finisher who is also aerially dominant, Toure will be an asset for a side that is keen to enhance their reputation in the English game. Capable of holding the ball up, the 21-year-old has the potential to shine in the top flight, potentially future proofing the position at Goodison Park.
In Toure, Dyche could land himself a long-term solution to his attacking woes. The Malian is versatile enough to be deployed on either flank, and an be used in a two man frontline when needed. The youngster’s deal at Almeria runs until 2028. So the onus is now on Everton to present both the club and plyer with a suitable proposition.
The Toffees have already signed two players in Ashley Young and Arnaut Danjuma this summer. While Everton could do with more additions, Toure remains an intriguing option who could go on to become a top player. The coming hours should more or less decide whether Dyche and co. have got their man.
