Crystal Palace have submitted an offer worth €32 million for the services of 23-year-old Liverpool target Perr Schuurs
According to Tuttosport via Sport Witness, Crystal Palace are keen on having Perr Schuurs in their ranks ahead of next season. The 23-year-old Torino defender has been on their radar for a while now, and they have submitted an official proposal of €32 million for his services.
While Liverpool are also interested in the Dutch international’s services, the Eagles are leading the race at this point in time. Roy Hodgson is keen on bolstering his defence ahead of next season. He has his eyes set on the Torino centre-back, and the Eagles have started making moves to fulfil their manager’s desire of having the 23-year-old in his ranks.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are also looking for defensive reinforcement. While the Merseyside club’s focus has been on transforming their midfield, they are also interested in adding another centre-back to the mix.
Jurgen Klopp wants to strengthen his defensive rotation and believes signing the 23-year-old could do wonders both in the present as well as the future. However, they are behind Hodgson’s team in the race.
As per the previous reports, the player is ready to join Palace and has an agreement in principle with the club. Meanwhile, the recent development suggests that he is focused on pre-season and his future is now in the hands of his agent and club.
The 23-year-old is ready to continue at Torino if they do not receive the right offer. The Serie A club’s chairman Urbano Cairo has placed a €40 million price tag on the Dutch international who still has three years left on his deal.
According to the report, the Eagles have submitted an offer of €32 million which is €8 million short of the Italian club’s valuation. Talks are expected to continue between the two clubs. Meanwhile, with Joachim Andersen likely to leave Palace for a considerable fee, they could improve their offer for the 23-year-old.
While there is still a lot of time left in the window, we could have a decision on Schuurs’s future soon with the report suggesting that Torino might agree to an offer of less than €40 million.
