Manchester United have been linked with a move for highly-rated Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund in recent weeks.
According to reputed Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, Manchester United are now ready to offer a €60 million package to sign talented young goalscorer Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta this summer.
The 20-year-old striker joined Atalanta last summer and he has been outstanding for them. He managed to score 16 goals across all competitions while picking up 7 assists along the way as well. The Denmark international has all the attributes to develop into a world-class player, and he could be a solid long-term investment for Manchester United.
Manchester United will have to improve their attacking options this summer, especially with Marcus Rashford the only reliable attacker at the club. The England international will need more support from his teammates, and Hojlund has emerged as a top target. He could partner with the England international in the Manchester United attack next season.
The highly-rated striker is also capable of leading the line, which would allow Rashford to operate in wide areas. The 20-year-old will certainly add more tactical flexibility to the Manchester United attack. But it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils can get the deal across the line.
Atalanta are under no pressure to cash in on him and they will look to charge a premium for him. He has a long-term contract with the club, and La Dea are only likely to sanction his departure if there is a lucrative proposal of around €60 million on the table.
Manchester United certainly have the financial resources to pay big money for the player, despite the looming Financial Fair Play threat. They have already improved the creativity in their midfield by signing Mason Mount, and a reliable goal scorer could transform their attack next season.
Manchester United will want to compete for the league title next season, and they need a better quality squad in order to match up to Arsenal and Manchester City. Improving their attack should be a priority for the Red Devils. Furthermore, they will be competing in the UEFA Champions League next year and they will hope to do well across multiple competitions.
