Saudi Arabian clubs want Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara

Saudi Pro League clubs are keen on acquiring the services of 32-year-old Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

According to The Athletic, Liverpool’s Thiago Alcantara is on the radar of multiple Saudi Arabian clubs. While the 32-year-old has shown no desire to leave the Merseyside club, the Saudi Pro League clubs are still willing to try their luck.

Alcantara joined Liverpool back in the summer of 2020 from Bayern Munich. He came through the ranks at Barcelona and featured for their first team for two seasons before joining the German giants.

And, after seven successful years with Bayern, the Spain international decided to take on a new challenge and joined Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool. He has since featured in 97 matches and also has 9 goal contributions.

The 32-year-old hasn’t had the desired impact because of injuries but he still remains an integral part of their first team. The club counts on him and expects him to fulfil his contract with them.

Klopp’s priority heading into the summer was to complete an overhaul in the centre of the park and he has already done the majority of the work by signing Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister. Meanwhile, he is still looking for a defensive-minded midfielder.

With three of his senior midfield players (Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain) no longer at the club, the German manager counts on Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara and wants them to lead by example.

As per the report, a Saudi Club had proposed a lucrative deal to the 32-year-old but he has rejected the offer. The Spain international is keen on staying at Liverpool for another season and he has no intentions of leaving at this point in time.

The player was approached directly by a club from the Saudi Pro League and there could be better offers coming his way in the near future. But, with the player keen on staying in England for another season and Klopp counting on him, a move to the Middle East at this point in time looks unlikely.
