According to a report by ESPN, Arda Guler views Real Madrid as his dream club. The 18-year-old Fenerbahce wonderkid is also a target for Barcelona and Liverpool. Meanwhile, the youngster’s contract contains a miserly release clause worth €17.5 million. But his entourage will demand a commission over the transfer fee to seal the deal.
Arda Guler is one of the most highly sought-after prodigies in the world following his breakout campaign at Fenerbahce. The Turkish whizkid made his debut for the Yellow Canaries as a 16-year-old. But 2022/23 proved to be the breakthrough season for him as he became a regular for the club.
An attacking midfielder by trade, the 18-year-old can also play as a central midfielder and a winger. Meanwhile, Guler turned out 35 times across all competitions while chipping in with six goals and seven assists. And the youngster’s progress has captured the attention of a hoard of high-profile clubs. Barcelona, Liverpool, and Real Madrid are keen on signing him.
Guler has been on Barcelona’s radar for a long time. And while triggering his release clause of €17.5 million might not be an issue, an additional payment in commission is complicating matters. Nonetheless, the versatile Turk is an attractive target for Barcelona in the long run.
On the other hand, Liverpool can make the 18-year-old one of the much-needed midfield reinforcements. The Reds have already signed Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion. But they have been slow to get a second summer signing over the line. But Guler’s name features on Liverpool’s wishlist this summer.
Meanwhile, the Turkish wonderkid is harbouring dreams of joining Real Madrid. And that should put a spanner in the works for Liverpool, Barcelona, and other suitors. As for Real Madrid, the Merengues have been keeping tabs on Guler for some time. And they are plotting a summer move for the youngster.
The teenage sensation is also a target for several other well-known clubs. But game time and commission demands will be the stumbling blocks for the suitors. And it will be interesting to see where he lands as dreams about joining Real Madrid.
