With the Brazil international available for free, quite a few clubs wanted to acquire his services, including Real Madrid. But, it seems Al Ahli are all set to win the race for his services. Ever since PIF acquired majority stakes in four clubs (Al Nassr, Al Ittihad, Al Ahli and Al Hilal), they have spent a fortune on acquiring star players from Europe.
Firmino is now all set to be the latest addition to one of their teams as they look to make the Saudi Pro League one of the best leagues in the world. Al Ahli have been in talks with the Brazil international for a while now. The talks have been advancing well, and they are in the finals stages.
The 31-year-old has been given a three-year contract by the Saudi Arabian club, and they are very close to putting pen to paper. Firmino and his representatives have been discussing some final details of the offer. Once those are sorted, the Brazil international should be announced as their latest acquisition.
