Serie A giants Juventus recently approached Real Madrid to ask information about Spanish right-back Alvaro Odriozola.
According to Italian journalist Giovanni Albanese, Alvaro Odriozola is the subject of interest from Juventus. The Serie A giants have submitted an enquiry to Real Madrid for the struggling Spanish international. And the player, who joined Los Blancos in a deal worth €32 million, might join the Bianconeri on loan.
Alvaro Odriozola has seen his progress come to a grinding halt since joining Real Madrid from Real Sociedad in July 2018. Los Blancos shelled out €32 million to sign the 27-year-old. But the investment has not paid off, with the player struggling to establish a foothold in the Real Madrid first team.
The Spanish international would have hoped to resurrect his career in the 2022/23 season after returning from a loan spell with Serie A club Fiorentina. But Odriozola’s Real Madrid stint continued, and he managed only 93 minutes of game time. However, as the summer transfer window approached, the player’s future is uncertain again.
Recent reports have claimed that the former Real Sociedad defender is ready to leave Real Madrid this summer. And he wants to rejoin La Real ahead of the 2023/24 season. But another opportunity in Serie A might be on the cards for the 27-year-old, with Juventus keen on signing him.
The Serie A giants hold a long-standing interest in the Spaniard. And they have approached Real Madrid over a possible move in the summer transfer window. The report adds that a loan move is possible, meaning Real Madrid will have to wait a year before offloading him for good.
Recouping €32 million from Odriozola’s sale is impossible. As for the interest from Juventus, the Spanish international is a viable target. With Juan Cuadrado well into his thirties, the Bianconeri can do with a younger right-back. And the struggling Real Madrid defender is an option worth considering.
