Manchester United’s takeover could hinder their transfer business as moves for Mason Mount and Dusan Vlahovic have been stalled.
According to Football Transfers, Manchester United might not be able to pull off the desired transfers amidst talks of a takeover. The Red Devils are keen on acquiring the services of Mason Mount and Dusan Vlahovic. But, they might not be able to land either of them as a deal looks unlikely at this point in time.
Manchester United was put on sale by the Glazers midway through the season. A number of bidders came forward and tried to buy the historic Manchester-based club. However, none of them has put forward a bid convincing enough for the Glazers to sell.
The American owners are still on the lookout for a buyer who can meet their asking price. While the takeover was expected to be completed before the start of the summer transfer window, it might not happen anytime soon. As a result, Erik ten Hag might not be able to land the desired players.
At this point in time, the Dutch manager is keen on adding a new striker and a midfielder into the mix. He feels adding a world-class forward and midfielder could help them close down the gap at the top and push for important titles.
The Red Devils had prepared an offer for Juventus striker Vlahovic a week back. But they are yet to present it to the Serie A club because of all that is going on in the background.
As far as Mount is concerned, Manchester United have agreed on personal terms with the 24-year-old midfielder. But they have not made any formal bids as of now. And, there is fear that the deal could be hijacked by Arsenal and Liverpool who have been keen on having the Chelsea midfielder in their ranks.
Ten Hag has no clue about the transfer budget that he will be working with for this summer. As a result, they cannot really make concrete offers. The current situation has left the Dutch manager frustrated as he could miss out on his top transfer targets.
