Manchester United are leading the race for the signature of 20-year-old Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Manchester United are keen on having Rasmus Hojlund in their ranks. The 20-year-old has taken the world by storm in his very first season in Italy, and there are quite a few clubs interested in acquiring his services.
Hojlund joined Atalanta ahead of the ongoing season. The Serie A club paid around €17 million to acquire the services of the 20-year-old from Sturm Graz. He has gone from strength to strength since joining Atalanta. The Denmark international has featured in 33 matches in his debut season for the Italian club and has 13 goal contributions.
Hojlund has also made a name for himself on the international stage with five goals in his four matches for the Denmark senior team. While his performances have dipped a touch of late, the interest in his services is still the same.
Despite joining the Serie A club a year back, the 20-year-old could be on the move in the upcoming transfer window. However, they will only let the Denmark international leave if their asking price of €50 million is met.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are one of the clubs keen on having him in their ranks. And, according to reports they are leading the race for his signatures. Erik ten Hag has done a decent job with the Red Devils. He has guided them back to the Champions League. However, he has identified a few areas that need strengthening ahead of next season. He is keen on adding a new striker into the mix.
Marcus Rashford has scored the majority of the goals for United throughout the ongoing season. And, Ten Hag is keen on adding a new forward who can share the goal-scoring load with the England international.
Hojlund seems to be a perfect fit for the club. He could be a great acquisition for the present as well as the future. Manchester United have already held talks with the Italian club, who are adamant about the fact that they will only let him leave for €50 million.
