Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are all set to trigger the release clause of 22-year-old midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
According to a report by A Bola, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are ready to go all out for the services of Manuel Ugarte. The 22-year-old defensive midfielder has been on fire of late, and there are a lot of clubs interested in his services.
Ugarte joined Sporting CP back in the summer of 2021 and he has gone from strength to strength over the past two seasons. The 22-year-old has established himself as an important player for the Portuguese club and his performances have attracted a lot of attention.
While his contract with Sporting runs until the summer of 2026, he could be on his way out in the summer. The club have failed to qualify for the Champions League and Ugarte’s departure could cover the financial loss. Even their manager Rúben Amorim has confirmed that there are numerous clubs keen on the 22-year-old who has a release clause of €60 million.
Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are two clubs keen on having the Sporting midfielder in their ranks. They are all set to trigger the release clause of the Uruguayan international who is also on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain.
Unai Emery has done wonders at Villa since taking charge. He has transformed the team completely and is now keen on further strengthening it in order to push for a top-six finish next season. The Spanish manager wants to add a holding midfielder to his squad.
He is a big admirer of Ugarte and believes he could do wonders for his side. As a result, Villa are likely to go all out for the 22-year-old. However, they are not alone in the race, even Spurs are willing to go all out.
They have their eyes on the Sporting midfielder as he has all the qualities needed to run the show in the centre of the park. Tottenham haven’t been at their best defensively this season and they believe his presence will make them a lot better.
While Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur are ready to go all out for the 22-year-old, it will be interesting to see if either of them can acquire his services.
