Tottenham and Galatasaray could open discussions over Victor Nelsson as the 24-year-old central defender could look for a move.
According to TakVim, Victor Nelsson has emerged as a target for Tottenham ahead of the summer window. The 24-year-old central defender has had a bright season with Galatasaray, with the Turkish side open to a sale. Spurs need a new centre-back and could open talks with their Turkish counterparts.
Tottenham’s list of central defenders grew as they added another player there. While the north London side aims to appoint a new sporting director and a manager, they will focus their efforts on player recruitment.
There’s a need for surgery to this squad after a disastrous season. The club have maintained some of former manager Antonio Conte’s requirement list and will target a new centre-back in the summer. Many options have been discussed, but Spurs are still far from signing any.
Harry Maguire is a target for Tottenham, and so is Manchester City’s Aymeric Laporte. Whether they sign either remains the question, but there are more options on their list. In the background, they want to find an agreement with Barcelona for on-loan defender Clement Lenglet, but a new option seems imperative.
Wolves’ star Max Kilman is also a target, and now Victor Nelsson has emerged as a potential target. The Galatasaray star has played 33 times for the Super Lig side this season, as they are on the verge of becoming champions of Turkey.
Galatasaray is open to letting the 24-year-old central defender leave for the right offer. They want interested clubs to pay €25 million, which is also the release clause on his contract. At that range, Tottenham might think about approaching.
The Turkish giants could also lose Sacha Boey with Arsenal’s interest in the versatile star. Losing the right back and the 24-year-old Nelsson will blow Galatasaray, but they are open to doing business for the right price.
He could add some much-needed steel to the Spurs’ backline and become a solid competitor. However, they might have to act fast to avoid further complications, as other clubs could come in considering Galatasaray’s asking price.
