Crystal Palace are keen on having 22-year-old Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley in their ranks ahead of next season.
According to Football Insider, Crystal Palace have their eyes on Matt O’Riley. The 22-year-old has been in sensational form over the last few seasons. And, quite a few clubs have been scouting him ahead of a potential move in the summer.
O’Riley started his career at Fulham. He came through the ranks at the club but failed to make an impact. The London club released him back in 2020. The Denmark Under-21 star then joined MK Dons and managed to revive his career.
His impressive performances resulted in a £1.5 million plus add-ons move to Celtic in the winter of 2022. The 22-year-old has gone from strength to strength since joining the Scottish giants. He has been involved in 68 matches and has 22 goal contributions to his name.
In the ongoing season, the Celtic midfielder has been involved in 16 goals in his 48 appearances. His impressive performances have caught the eyes of quite a few big clubs. And, Crystal Palace are among those who are interested in having the 22-year-old in their ranks.

While O’Riley’s contract at Celtic runs until the summer of 2026, he could be on the move in the summer given the amount of interest in his services. The only way Celtic could extend his stay at the club is by penning a new deal. However, it looks unlikely at this point in time.
Meanwhile, the Eagles have been scouting him for a while now. They are eager to add more quality to their ranks ahead of next season. And, one of their priorities is to sign a new midfielder, someone with a lot of creative potential. O’Riley seems to be a great option for Crystal Palace, who have also scouted Jefferson Lerma and several other midfielders.
His versatility will be an added advantage for Crystal Palace. The 22-year-old is capable enough to feature anywhere in the midfield, something that could be of great help to Roy Hodgson. However, with quite a few clubs likely to push for his services, it will be interesting to see if the Eagles can come out on top.
