Manchester United are ready to offer Anthony Martial plus €50 million for Lautaro Martinez, with Inter Milan likely to demand more.
According to Calciomercatoweb, Manchester United could make a part-exchange proposal for Lautaro Martinez. The Premier League giants are ready to include Anthony Martial and €50 million in cash for the World Cup winner. But Inter Milan could demand more from the Argentine.
Inter Milan are heading towards a crucial summer window, as several changes could occur with their playing personnel at the club. Simone Inzaghi will look at his defensive options and urge the club to make serious additions for at least three key players who could depart.
Secondly, there are doubts over the futures of Joaquin Correa and Edin Dzeko, while Romelu Lukaku will certainly return to Chelsea. For all their problems, Inzaghi will ask for sufficient reinforcements to keep the competitive levels of this squad intact.
That may seem difficult considering the financial troubles Inter currently endure. For that to happen, the club may need to raise funds, and sales could happen at San Siro. They are already considering selling Martinez if a sizeable offer arrives, while they value the World Cup winner at around €80-90 million.
Manchester United have already made enquiries for the striker amid growing speculation the World Cup winner features on their shortlist. Inter Milan feels Martinez will fetch them a considerable sum in the window. But they will only sell for the right price.
Manchester United have prioritised signing a new striker in the summer, and Martinez is one of their options. As per reports, Harry Kane seems like the primary target, while Victor Osimhen also features on their list. As for the Argentine World Cup winner, they are already pondering making an offer.
The report claims Manchester United could offer €50 million plus Anthony Martial in a part-exchange deal. The Frenchman has been good this season whenever fit, which has been Erik ten Hag’s primary concern. The Red Devils could cut their losses with him if they can find a reasonable solution.
Inter Milan could look at such an offer but are unlikely to consider a deal. The Nerazzurri could demand a price closer to the Argentine’s value, which may prove a deal breaker for Manchester United. Yet, if they can reach a middle ground, the Red Devils might open the door to do business.
Martial could sweeten the blow of losing a key player like Martinez for Inter. Yet, looking at his fitness record in recent years, any team will show caution before signing the Frenchman. Hence, the part exchange may not work out for Manchester United, and they may have to pay the Argentine’s full value to land him.
