Real Madrid are interested in signing 31-year-old Bayer Munich forward and Liverpool legend Sadio Mane ahead of next season.
According to a report by Fichajes, Real Madrid want to sign Sadio Mane in the summer. The 31-year-old’s future at Bayern Munich looks uncertain after the recent incident involving Leroy Sane. Los Blancos are looking to strengthen their attack ahead of next season and have their eyes on the former Liverpool star. The experienced attacker’s market value is €45 million.
Mane was a part of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool from the summer of 2016 to 2022. The Senegal international formed a deadly trio with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino. He enjoyed a lot of success at the Merseyside club and won numerous titles.
Meanwhile, the 31-year-old featured in 269 matches for the Reds and was involved in 168 goals. After a successful stint in England with Liverpool, Mane decided to join Bayern Munich ahead of the ongoing season.
The Senegal international has featured in 33 matches for the German giants and has been involved in 16 goals. While he has done a decent job on the field, things have not gone accordingly to plan off the field.
According to the report, the 31-year-old punched his team-mate Leroy Sane after their UEFA Champions League defeat to Manchester City. And, the incident has not gone down well with the people at the club. They might look to offload the 31-year-old forward, whose market value is €45 million, in the summer. Meanwhile, Real Madrid are interested in signing Mane.
Los Blancos want to strengthen their attack ahead of next season. Their priority is to sign a number nine. But they could do with a left-winger who can slot in as a striker when needed. With Eden Hazard’s future uncertain, Real Madrid want to secure a new forward.
Carlo Ancelotti has prepared a list of potential transfer targets for the forward position. And Mane is a part of his list. The 31-year-old could be a great option to have as he can feature as a winger as well as a striker. And the Liverpool legend could give cover to both Vinicius Junior and Karim Benzema. He can also play on the right flank.
While Mane’s contract at Bayern runs until the summer of 2025, the German giants could offload him on the back of the recent incident involving him. And, Real Madrid could take advantage of the situation.
