Mikel Arteta wants Arsenal to prioritise signing 23-year-old Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic ahead of next season.

According to a report by Football Insider, Arsenal are keen on landing Dusan Vlahovic at the club in the summer. Mikel Arteta wants the Gunners to prioritise signing the 23-year-old striker in the summer. While they do have quite a few options on their radar, the Arsenal boss is desperate to have the Juventus number nine in their ranks.

Vlahovic came through the ranks at Partizan before making a move to Fiorentina back in the summer of 2018. He had quite an impressive time at Fiorentina, and his performances at the club resulted in a big-money move to Juventus in the winter of 2022.

In his first full season at the club, the 23-year-old has featured in 32 matches and has been involved in 15 goals. He has found the back of the net 11 times and has created the remaining four goals.

The Old Lady paid £62.8 million to acquire the services of the former Fiorentina forward. And, his contract at the club runs until the summer of 2026. With quite a few years still left in his contract, Arsenal will have to pay a huge price to secure his signing. The Gunners did try signing him back in 2022 but were beaten by Juventus. And, they are once again willing to go all out to acquire the services of the 23-year-old.

Arteta is happy with what he has seen from Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah in the ongoing season. But, he believes the duo have quite a similar playing style, and signing someone with a different style could help their cause.

Arsenal are all set to return to the UEFA Champions League next season, and Arteta wants a strong, powerful and physically demanding forward. As a result, he believes signing Vlahovic could add more balance to his side.

While the Serbian international is their priority ahead of next season, they do have Dominic Calvert-Lewin of Everton as a backup option. And, their search for a new striker could be boosted by the potential exit of Folarin Balogun who is currently on loan at Reims.

The 21-year-old has been on fire in the ongoing season and his departure could bring in a decent fee that could be used to prise Vlahovic away from Juventus.
