Liverpool are pushing for the signature of 20-year-old Bayern Munich midfield sensation Ryan Gravenberch.
According to The Times, Liverpool are interested in signing Ryan Gravenberch ahead of next season. The Merseyside club are desperate to sign new midfielders in the summer. They have already dropped the plan to go big on Jude Bellingham and have shifted their focus towards Gravenberch.
The 20-year-old is highly admired by the Merseyside club boss Jurgen Klopp. And, the German manager is keen on having him in his ranks. Gravenberch joined the Ajax youth academy back in 2010. He came through the ranks at the club and became an integral part of their first team setup before making a move to the German giants.
However, things have not gone according to plan for him in his first season with Bayern Munich. The 20-year-old has featured in 27 matches. 18 of those appearances have come in the Bundesliga, but he has started only once.
In his total 27 appearances, the Dutch international has been on the pitch for just over 700 minutes and has a total of two goal contributions to his name. Gravenberch is not happy with the limited game time he has had since joining Bayern and might look for a move elsewhere.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have not had the best of seasons so far. Their midfield has looked clueless at times, and age has caught up to some of their best workhorses in the centre of the park. As a result, the Merseyside club have already started planning for the summer transfer window.
Jurgen Klopp’s team are looking to sign multiple midfielders in the summer after ending interest in Jude Bellingham. He is looking at a complete midfield overhaul and Gravenberch is part of his plans. The club have already sent representatives to meet with his father in the Netherlands this week for initial discussions.

Gravenberch’s father has been a mentor to him and he could play a pivotal role in a possible transfer. As a result, the Merseyside club have already initiated talks with him. The former Ajax midfielder’s services will cost around £25 million to Liverpool. However, it will be interesting to see if Bayern Munich will let their wonderkid leave.
