Brighton & Hove Albion are ready to listen to offers for Liverpool and Manchester United target Alexis Mac Allister.
According to Football Insider, Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion are ready to listen to offers for star midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, with Liverpool and Manchester United keen to secure his services.
The 24-year-old is enjoying a stellar campaign at the Amex and was also part of the Argentina squad that won the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Mac Allister was a key cog for La Albiceleste as they finally ended their 34-year-old wait for a world crown.
Good in possession and a solid ball carrier, Mac Allister is a modern-day midfielder with enough Premier League experience to boot. He has merely 24 months left on his current deal, and Brighton will be best served to cash in on him next summer unless a contract extension is in the works.
Should they fail to reach an amicable agreement, the Seagulls are open to cashing in on him next summer. Liverpool and Manchester United are both in a state of rebuild and could offer Brighton the cash they are seeking. More so, either club can also offer Mac Allister much more in wages, also giving him the chance to take the next step in his career.
Jurgen Klopp’s side cannot put off their midfield rebuild any longer and it is now or never. With Jude Bellingham now off the table, the Reds will need to focus their attention elsewhere. Mac Allister alone will be of little help. But landing the World Cup winner would be a solid way to kickstart Liverpool’s summer recruitment.
Manchester United can also do with some dynamism in the middle of the park. Casemiro and Christian Eriksen are not getting any younger, while Scott McTominay could be on his way out. Fred is also far from a reliable starter week-in, week-out while Marcel Sabitzer might not be signed on permanently.
Mac Allister’s father has stoked further speculation by claiming that his son could be plying his trade somewhere else come next July. It would certainly appear that the South American superstar is enjoying his last Dance with the Seagulls. New pastures could be calling soon.
