Barcelona will reportedly sell 26-year-old Brazilian attacker Raphinha, a target for Chelsea, if suitors pay €80 million.
According to a report by Goal, Raphinha is the subject of interest from Chelsea. And the Blues now know how much they will have to shell out to sign the Barcelona attacker. The Blaugrana will be open to parting ways with the 26-year-old if a suitor coughs up €80 million.
Raphinha achieved his dream by joining Barcelona from Leeds United last summer. The Brazilian international was eager to embark on a new adventure after guiding the Whites to safety in the Premier League. And he snubbed the opportunity to join Arsenal and Chelsea to seal the move to Barcelona.
The 26-year-old has endured a topsy-turvy ride thus far this season but has picked up form in recent weeks. And Raphinha’s tally of nine goals and nine assists in 40 appearances is decent. But the player faces an uncertain future at Spotify Camp Nou, with Barcelona open to selling him for €80 million. And he has emerged as a target for Chelsea.
Chelsea’s continued interest in the former Leeds United talisman is perplexing. The Blues are keeping tabs on the Barcelona attacker’s situation. But after signing Raheem Sterling, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Noni Madueke in the last two transfer windows, Chelsea’s squad is laden with wide attackers.
In addition, the Chelsea first-team squad also has others attackers like Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech. So it is unclear how Raphinha’s signing will bolster Chelsea’s unit ideally. Nonetheless, the West London giants are keen on signing the 26-year-old in the summer transfer window. And they now know how much Barcelona will demand to part ways with the player.
While Barcelona might not actively look to offload the Brazilian international, they will sell him if a suitor shells out €80 million. The amount should not necessarily pose a problem for Chelsea, with Todd Boehly spending freely since his consortium bought the club.

But the Blues must balance their books after spending heavily without selling many players. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see if Chelsea will cough up €80 million to sign Raphinha. Recent reports have claimed that the 26-year-old is open to returning to England. So a summer move might be on the cards.
