Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the 30-year-old Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech ahead of next season.
According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Hakim Ziyech in the summer. The 30-year-old has fallen down in the pecking order at Chelsea and might look for a move away from the club in the upcoming transfer window.
Ziyech was close to joining Paris Saint-Germain in the winter transfer window. The French giants were ready to land him on loan at the club, but the deal collapsed at the very last moment. While it did lead to some differences between the clubs, PSG are expected to push again for his services in the summer.
However, this time around, they will face tough competition from English clubs who are keen on having the 30-year-old in their ranks. Ziyech made a move to the Blues in the summer of 2020 after impressive performances for Ajax.
The Blues winger was sensational at the FIFA World Cup 2022 for Morocco. He helped his nation become the first African team to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup. While he was sensational for his national team, his performances at the club level have not been that great. In reality, he has not been given enough time on the pitch to showcase his abilities.
The 30-year-old has featured in 19 matches for the Blues in the ongoing season and has only one assist in all competitions. He has been on the pitch for just over 800 minutes. The former Ajax star is well aware of the fact that he is way below in the Chelsea pecking order and wants to move to a new club in search of more minutes.
The Blues do have to offload a few players in the summer after having spent a fortune on signing new players over the past two transfer windows. And, as per the report, they are willing to let the Moroccan international leave for a fee of around £20 million.
Spurs are keen on signing him, and the London club are willing to spend the bucks to acquire the 30-year-old. Tottenham have had a rough season so far, and they are already planning for the future despite not being sure about who their new manager will be.
They are keen on having Ziyech in their ranks. The club believe his arrival could add depth to their attack and bring in a new dynamic. With Spurs in search of a new attacking midielder, it will be interesting to see if they land the 30-year-old or not.
