Khephren Thuram has reportedly emerged on Real Madrid’s radar over a possible move in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Khephren Thuram is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The reigning La Liga champions view the French international midfielder as the true successor to Casemiro. Meanwhile, the youngster has a market value of €32 million.
Khephren Thuram is the son of legendary French defender Lilian Thuram and the younger brother of Marcus Thuram. The 22-year-old had humble beginnings, passing through the academies at Olympique de Neuilly, AC Boulogne-Billancourt, and AS Monaco before turning professional. But his stock has risen considerably since moving to OGC Nice in July 2019.
The Frenchman has come leaps and bounds in the last four years while making his international debut last month. Thuram is also enjoying a solid 2022/23 season thus far, chipping in with two goals and eight assists in 41 appearances. Meanwhile, the youngster’s market value has risen to €32 million, while his progress has alerted Real Madrid.
Thuram is also a target for several high-profile Premier League clubs. And recent reports have linked him with Liverpool and Manchester United, among others. But Real Madrid’s entry into the scene changes the equation for the French international midfielder.
The 22-year-old might find it hard to turn down Los Blancos if they approach him with an offer. And the interest in the player is understandable amid Dani Ceballos’s uncertain future. In addition, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos are in the twilight of their storied careers. So Real Madrid must sign a midfielder this summer.
While Thuram is primarily a holding midfielder, he is versatile and can reprise different roles in the middle of the park. That is a quality that Carlo Ancelotti appreciates in the players he manages. But the report suggests Real Madrid might view the youngster as the successor to Casemiro.

Thuram’s market value is €32 million. But with his contract having over two years remaining, Nice might demand a premium to part ways with him. For now, the French international midfielder has emerged on Real Madrid’s radar. And a move to the Santiago Bernabeu might be on the cards.
