Arsenal are reportedly determined to remain in the chase for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, with the 28-year-old ready to quit Lazio.

According to Tutto Mercato Web, Arsenal are keen on Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and want to sign the 28-year-old midfielder. Several other clubs are eager to sign the Serbian midfielder, who could quit Lazio in the summer.

For a top-level player, it is often the case to find a new challenge and then find another gear for their career. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has been an excellent performer for Lazio over the years. But he might look to find a new club in the summer.

Milinkovic-Savic will enter the final year of his deal, and despite Lazio’s attempts to extend his stay, they might lose out. From demanding close to a €100 million last summer to possibly losing him for less, the Serie A club may have miscalculated their chances.

Milinkovic-Savic’s profile certainly excites many clubs let alone Arsenal. Mikel Arteta reportedly wanted the 28-year-old midfield powerhouse last summer. But his asking price may have put him off. However, with his agent, Mateja Kezman, reportedly assuring Lazio of offers of €40 million or more, the chances of a departure are high.

Arsenal are reportedly determined to add the Serb, who might open the door for a move. The Gunners want to add to their ranks and elevate the current quality of their squad. A 2-2 draw to Liverpool may have halted their run and probably hurt their chances of a title; Arteta does not want to club to stop in the window. They want to bring in excellent talent that improves the team.

Milinkovic-Savic will have to fight for a place in the team, with Granit Xhaka for the left-eight position. Whether Arsenal are ready to pay the required sum remains the question, but their interest is real. The 28-year-old midfield powerhouse remains an admired player in the market with several suitors.

For now, Lazio could be resigned to losing him in the next window. They will hope for a reasonable offer, but there is no chance of retaining him. Whether Arsenal are ready to sign him or if he goes somewhere else will become clearer in the summer.
