Newcastle United enter Santiago Gimenez chase

Newcastle United have reportedly entered the race for the signature of 21-year-old Mexico international Santiago Gimenez.

According to Calciomercato, Newcastle United are interested in securing the services of Santiago Gimenez. The 21-year-old has made a name for himself of late in the Eredivisie, and a lot of clubs are keen on acquiring his services.

The Magpies are the latest clubs to have been linked with the Mexico international. Gimenez started off at the youth academy of Cruz Azul. He came through the ranks at the club before making a move to Feyenoord ahead of the ongoing season.

The 21-year-old has had an exceptional season with the Eredivisie club so far. He has featured in 41 matches and has 22 goals and three assists to his name. Gimenez’s performances in the current campaign has impressed a lot of clubs, and they are all set to push for his signature in the summer.

While his contract with Feyenoord runs until the summer of 2026, the 21-year-old is expected to be on the move ahead of next season just a year after joining the Eredivisie club, given the amount of interest in him.

Newcastle United are interested in the Mexico international. The Magpies have done a great job in the ongoing season. And they are still in the race for a Champions League spot. But manager Eddie Howe has already started to plan for the next season.

They are expected to bring in further reinforcement in the summer as they look to push for major titles. Howe wants to add a new attacker to his ranks. And, the Newcastle United boss is keen on having the 21-year-old in his ranks.

Gimenez is highly rated by the people at the club. And, they believe his arrival could add depth to their attack and add a high-potential youngster to their ranks who could eventually be a first-team regular.

However, it won’t be an easy task to sign the Mexico international as there are a lot of clubs keen on having him at their disposal. But, given the financial strength of Newcastle, they stand a great chance of signing the 21-year-old.
