Barcelona and Arsenal are reportedly among the clubs tracking 20-year-old Bosnian full-back Amar Dedic at Red Bull Salzburg.
According to a report by Spanish outlet SPORT, Barcelona and Arsenal are monitoring Amar Dedic. The two clubs recently sent scouts to watch the 20-year-old full-back in action during the ongoing international break. The Red Bull Salzburg defender is also a target for AC Milan.
Amar Dedic was born and brought up in Austria and spent his formative years in the country. But he has chosen to represent Bosnia and Herzegovina on the international stage. And he has made swift progress since joining Red Bull Salzburg in August 2020, especially excelling since returning from a loan stint with Wolfsberger AC.
The 20-year-old has enjoyed a solid 2022/23 season thus far, chipping in with two goals and three assists in 28 appearances. And Dedic recently signed a new long-term contract with Salzburg that will keep him at the club until June 30, 2027. But Barcelona and Arsenal are among the clubs that can consider prising him away this summer.
The Bosnian full-back was recently the subject of interest from Barcelona and Arsenal. The two clubs had scouts present to watch him in action in a game against Iceland this week. In addition, AC Milan also sent representatives to track the youngster during the ongoing international break.
Barcelona’s interest in Dedic is understandable, considering the ongoing right-back crisis. Xavi Hernandez does not have a dependable right-back at his disposal and has had to use Jules Kounde in the role. Several players, including Juan Foyth, have thus emerged on Barcelona’s radar. But the Argentine is too expensive for Barcelona. So Dedic is a viable alternative for the Blaugrana.
As for Arsenal, Mikel Arteta has used Ben White as the first-choice right-back this season. And Takehiro Tomiyasu is White’s backup in the Gunners’ first-team squad. But neither player is prolific in the final third. And White has started showing chinks in his armour in recent weeks. Dedic has thus emerged as an option worth considering for Arsenal.

Barcelona and Arsenal face stiff competition from AC Milan for the 20-year-old Bosnian full-back. Meanwhile, Red Bull Salzburg will demand around €10 million to part ways with the youngster. That should place him well within the budgets of all three suitors. And a summer deal might be on the cards.
