Manchester United will ask for €25 million to sell Anthony Martial

Manchester United are all set to offload 27-year-old French striker Anthony Martial for €25 million ahead of next season.

According to TeamTalk via Fichajes, Manchester United are all set to part ways with French striker Anthony Martial. The 27-year-old has not reached the heights that everyone expected from him. And his time at Old Trafford might come to an end in the summer, with the Red Devils demanding €25 million for him.

Martial came into the limelight after his heroic performances at AS Monaco back in the day. His displays attracted the attention of Manchester United, who signed him in the summer of 2015. The Red Devils invested heavily to sign the then 19-year-old French wonderkid.

However, things haven’t gone according to plan. While Martial did manage to have an impact every now and then, he has failed to reach the levels that were expected of him. The 27-year-old has featured in a total of 283 matches for Manchester United and has 137 goal contributions to his name. His overall stats for Manchester United are decent, but he has been on the decline in the last few seasons.

Martial started off the ongoing season scoring goals for fun. But injuries have once again derailed his season. The French international has spent the majority of the season on the sidelines. He has only made 14 appearances in all competitions and has 9 goal involvements.

The France international’s current contract at Manchester United ends in the summer of 2024. And, the Red Devils are not interested in extending his contract. With around 15 months left in his contract, they will look to offload him in the summer.

As per the report, the Red Devils will let him leave for a fee of around €25 million. And, they have already started to plan for life after Martial. Erik ten Hag, who took charge of Manchester United ahead of the ongoing season, has done wonders at the club.

The Dutch manager has already won a trophy at the club and is still in contention for a few more. However, ten Hag believes that they are in desperate need of reinforcements in attack. He is keen on signing a few new forwards as they look to challenge for the Premier League and UEFA Champions League title next season.

Meanwhile, Moussa Dembele, who will be a free agent in the summer after his contract ends at Lyon, is on their radar. Manchester United are keen on having Dembele in their ranks as a replacement for Martial. And, they are expected to push for another star striker in the summer.
