Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing 20-year-old striker Elye Wahi ahead of next season.
According to Jeunes Footeux, London clubs Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Elye Wahi. The 20-year-old has been doing wonders in Ligue 1, and his performances have not gone unnoticed. A lot of clubs are interested in Wahi, and he might be on his way out in the summer.
The France Under-20 star has been on fire in the ongoing season for Montpellier. The French forward is scoring goals for fun and is on the radar of a few big clubs across Europe.
Wahi has been a part of Montpellier since the summer of 2018. He started off with their Under-19 team and has gone up the ranks at some pace. The 20-year-old was promoted to the first team in the winter of 2021. He has made a total of 82 appearances for their senior team and has 30 goal contributions.
The 20-year-old striker has scored 12 goals in the ongoing Ligue 1 season. Wahi has been very impressive in his 24 outings so far. His current contract at the club ends in the summer of 2025. But, given the amount of interest in his services, he is likely to leave the club ahead of next season.
Meanwhile, Arsenal and Spurs are interested in the 20-year-old. Wahi has been on their radar for a while now and they are all set to bid for his services in the summer. The Gunners have done a great job in the ongoing season. They are currently leading the Premier League and are all set to return to the UEFA Champions League. Mikel Arteta is expected to strengthen his squad before they kick start the next season.
He would love to add more firepower to his ranks in order to compete for the UCL. Arteta is keen on having Wahi in his ranks. He is looking for an out-and-out striker and the 20-year-old perfectly fits the bill.
However, they will have to battle it out with Tottenham Hotspur in order to land the France Under-20 star. Spurs have had a disappointing run in the ongoing season. And, they are expected to head into the summer transfer market to bring in reinforcements.
The club are keen on adding another forward to their ranks. With Lucas Moura’s departure a certainty and Harry Kane’s future at the club uncertain, it looks like the right move. Even if Kane stays at the club, signing the 20-year-old will only strengthen their attack. With Spurs and the Gunners keen on signing Wahi, it will be interesting to see who comes out on top in the end.
