Arsenal, Manchester United vying for Jonathan David

Arsenal offer €47 million to sign Chelsea target Riccardo Calafiori, told to pay more.

Arsenal and Manchester United are looking to add more depth and quality to their attack and they have identified the Lille striker Jonathan David as a potential target.

A report from Fichajes.net claims that Manchester United are looking to bring in a quality centre forward. Meanwhile, Arsenal want to bring in someone who can rotate with Gabriel Jesus next season.

David has certainly proven his quality in the French league and he has 19 goals in 23 appearances for little in the league this season.

The Canadian international is currently the top scorer in the French league and he has the potential to develop into a top-class player.

The 24-year-old is highly rated around Europe and Arsenal or Manchester United would do well to secure his services.

Manchester United need to add more goals to their side after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo and David would be a superb long-term prospect for them.

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta needs to add more depth to his front three if the Gunners are to push for major trophies next season.

They cannot hope to challenge for multiple trophies with Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus, and Bukayo Saka as the only reliable attackers at the club.

Both teams have the financial resources to tempt the French outfit into selling David and it remains to be seen where he ends up.

The Canadian international is likely to be attracted to the idea of playing in the Premier League and both Arsenal and Manchester United would represent an excellent step up in his career.

Both clubs have a proven track record of improving young players and David will look to fulfill his potential with a move to England. If Arsenal or Manchester United can sign him for a reasonable price at the end of the season, the move could prove to be a bargain in the long run.

The two clubs have been linked with other attackers like Victor Osimhen. Meanwhile, Manchester United are keeping tabs on Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane as well. David would be a cheaper option compared to both players and it would be a transfer with a lot of potential upside.
