Premier League club Newcastle United will have to break the bank to acquire the services of French star Moussa Diaby.
According to a report by Marlon Irlbacher, Newcastle United will have to present a fantastic offer to stand a chance to sign Moussa Diaby in the summer. The 23-year-old winger is one of the hottest properties in world football and a lot of clubs have their eyes set on him.
Diaby is having an impressive season in the German Bundesliga. And, his performances have attracted a lot of attention. The 23-year-old started off his career with the Paris Saint-Germain youth academy. He was part of PSG for over 6 years before moving to Germany.
He joined Bayer Leverkusen back in the summer of 2019. Diaby has gone on to become an integral part of the German club in the last few years. The France international has made over 150 appearances for Leverkusen and has been involved in 89 goals.
In the ongoing season, he has 17 goal contributions in 31 outings. And, the interest in his services is quite understandable. Meanwhile, his contract at the German club ends in the summer of 2025 and they are in no hurry to let him go.
However, as per Irlbacher, if there is a substantial offer for the 23-year-old, the German side could be willing to let him leave. And, the player is also keen on joining a bigger European club.
Meanwhile, the richest club in world football, Newcastle have their eyes on the France winger. They have identified him as a great option to bolster their squad. Eddie Howe’s team have done a great job so far this season. They are currently fighting for a spot in the UEFA Champions League.
And, if they do manage to make it into the Premier League top four at the end of the season. The Magpies will enter the market to further bolster their squad. They were interested in Diaby last summer and are all set to push for him in the upcoming window.
If Newcastle manages to secure a Champions League spot, the player is likely to consider moving to England. However, Diaby does have a return to PSG on his mind. As a result, it will be interesting to see whether the Magpies manage to secure his services ahead of next season or not.
