According to a report from Fichajes, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is hoping to put together a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title once again. And 26-year-old Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat has been identified as a target.

The report further states that players like Jude Bellingham, Matheus Nunes and Moises Caicedo are on the German manager’s radar as well. Meanwhile, Amrabat has been exceptional for club and country over the past year. And he was one of the best midfielders at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The 26-year-old’s combative performances in the middle of the park helped Morocco reach the semi-finals of the World Cup. And it is no surprise that the top clubs are looking to sign him. Amrabat is at the peak of his career and he deserves to play for a bigger club.

Liverpool are in desperate need of midfield reinforcements. And the 26-year-old could transform them in the middle of the park. They are crying out for someone who can add a bit of defensive steel and organisation to their midfield. The Moroccan international has a relentless work ethic and is exceptional when it comes to defensive contribution.

The Reds are likely to lose a number of players as free agents at the end of the season. And Klopp will need to bring in more than just one central midfielder. It makes sense that the Liverpool manager has prepared a shortlist of targets. And it remains to be seen whether Liverpool can get all of these players to Anfield at the end of the season.

However, it is fair to assume that Liverpool will have to secure the UEFA Champions League qualification to attract players like Amrabat at the end of the season. The  Moroccan international will have opportunities to join top clubs in the summer. And he is unlikely to join Liverpool if they fail to secure a top-four finish. But he will surely leave Serie A club Fiorentina in the summer.
