Arsenal and Manchester United are among the Premier League monitoring 20-year-old emerging Spanish midfielder Gabri Veiga.
According to a report by Spanish outlet AS, Gabri Veiga is attracting interest from the Premier League. Arsenal and Manchester United are regularly scouting the Celta Vigo midfielder. The Galician outfit will look to recoup around €30 million if they part ways with the emerging Spanish midfielder.
Gabri Veiga had humble beginnings in his youth career, representing Santa Marina in the first few years. But he has gone from strength to strength since joining Celta Vigo. And after a few years in their youth division, the 20-year-old made his first-team debut in December 2019. Since then, he has gradually risen in stature and is enjoying a breakthrough 2022/23 campaign.
The emerging Spanish midfielder has chipped in with six goals and two assists in 25 appearances thus far. And Veiga’s market value has risen to €10 million, although Celta Vigo will demand around €30 million for him. Meanwhile, the player’s progress has captured the attention of Arsenal and Manchester United.
Arsenal bolstered the midfield unit by signing Jorginho in the January transfer window. But Mikel Arteta is scouring the market for a competitor to Martin Odegaard. While the Arsenal captain has been one of the best players in the Premier League, competition is always a boon for a top club.
Several players, including Marco Asensio, have thus emerged on Arsenal’s radar. And Gabri Veiga is also an option worth considering for the Premier League leaders. But the Gunners face stiff competition from Manchester United for the emerging Spanish midfielder.
At Manchester United, Bruno Fernandes has gone from strength to strength. And Erik ten Hag has enough options to act as backup to the Portuguese international. But Manchester United can do with an option to pair up with Casemiro in the middle of the park. In addition, recent reports have linked Barcelona and Real Madrid with Veiga. So he will likely be popular in the market in the summer transfer window.
