Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing Matheus Nunes from Wolverhampton Wanderers at the end of the season.
According to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool are lining up a summer move for 24-year-old Portuguese midfielder Matheus Nunes from Wolverhampton Wanderers at the end of the season.
Nunes completed a move to the Premier League club in the summer transfer window. And the former Sporting CP midfielder has managed to hit the ground running. He has impressed with his performances in the Premier League so far. So it is no surprise that top clubs like Liverpool are keeping tabs on him.
Liverpool have been long-term admirers of the 24-year-old midfielder. And they held talks with the player regarding a potential move prior to his move to the Molineux. Jurgen Klopp needs to add more depth and quality in the middle of the park, and the Portuguese international could prove to be a quality acquisition.
The 24-year-old will add creativity drive and composure in the middle of the park. He could be an upgrade on players like Jordan Henderson and James Milner. Meanwhile, Liverpool will lose Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain when their contracts expire in the summer. And Klopp needs to bring in more than just one central midfielder at the end of the season.
The Reds have been linked with the Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham as well. However, they might struggle to attract a player of his quality without Champions League football.
