Bayern Munich have entered the race for the signature of 29-year-old Chelsea forward Hakim Ziyech.
According to a report by Fichajes, Bayern Munich are interested in signing Chelsea forward Hakim Ziyech in the summer. The German giants want to land the 29-year-old Paris Saint-German target ahead of next season.
Ziyech was close to joining PSG in the winter transfer window. But, due to some paperwork problems between the clubs, a move could not take place. The French club are expected to once again push for his services in the summer.
However, this time around they are not alone in the race to sign the Moroccan star. They will face competition from Bayern Munich for the services of the 29-year-old.
Ziyech joined Chelsea back in the summer of 2020 from Ajax. The Moroccan winger was part of the Ajax team that featured in the 2018/19 Champions League semi-final. He was one of their star players who came into the limelight because of his performance in that campaign.
Things have not gone according to plan for the former Ajax talisman at the English club. Initially, he did get a lot of game time but failed to impress. And, as a result, he never really became a regular for the Blues. He has featured in a total of 101 matches for the London-based club and has 25 goal contributions.
Morocco’s World Cup hero has featured in 18 matches for his club in the ongoing season and has only 1 assist to his name. He has been on the pitch for a total of 782 minutes only. Ziyech has fallen out of favour at Chelsea. And, with a lot of new signings arriving in the winter, a move away from the club ahead of next season is imminent.
He was close to joining PSG in the recently concluded transfer window. Unfortunately, things did not go according to plan. The 29-year-old’s priority is still to join PSG ahead of next season.
But, with German giants Bayern Munich entering the race things could change. Bayern are keen on having him at the club, they want to add more depth to their attack. And, they are willing to battle it out with the French club to land Hakim Ziyech in the summer.
