Barcelona prodigy Ansu Fati is not interested in listening to offers from prospective suitors amid interest from Arsenal and Tottenham.
According to a report by Mundo Deportivo, Ansu Fati remains focused on making his mark for Barcelona. And the young Spanish international will not entertain any offers amid interest from Premier League bigwigs Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Ansu Fati burst onto the scene as the most promising young prospect out of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy since Lionel Messi. The 20-year-old was the second-youngest debutant in FC Barcelona’s history. And he seemed to be destined to eventually take over from Messi before fitness issues struck.
The Spanish international has thus seen his growth stutter but is gradually coming back to his best. However, Fati’s slow progress has hampered his game time, as he has managed just over 1,000 minutes of action. But the Barcelona prodigy remains highly rated across Europe, with Arsenal and Tottenham among his prospective suitors.
Arsenal recently bolstered the offensive unit by signing Leandro Trossard from Brighton & Hove Albion. But according to widespread reports, the Gunners remain in the market for an attacking reinforcement. And Ansu Fati has thus popped up on Arsenal’s radar over a possible move in the summer transfer window.
Recent reports have also claimed that the north Londoners have established contact with Fati. And the youngster’s versatility makes him a viable target for the Premier League leaders. But Arsenal will face stiff competition from local rival Tottenham Hotspur for the Barcelona prodigy.
Like Arsenal, Tottenham signed an attacker in January by bringing Arnaut Danjuma on loan. But it is unclear if they will sign the Dutch international permanently in the summer. In addition, Harry Kane faces an uncertain future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. So it behoves Tottenham to scour the market for an offensive reinforcement. And Fati is an option worth considering.
But the Barcelona prodigy is not interested in listening to offers from any prospective suitor. And according to the report, Fati is focused on succeeding for Barcelona by turning his fortunes around. In addition, with Xavi Hernandez recently insisting that the 20-year-old is in his plans, a summer exit seems unlikely. So Arsenal, Tottenham, and others need to set their sights elsewhere.
