Real Madrid have reportedly joined Liverpool in the race to sign the Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani.
According to a report from Defensa Central, Real Madrid are hoping to sign Randal Kolo Muani at the end of the season. Los Blancos will face competition from Premier League club Liverpool for the 24-year-old French international attacker.
Randal Kolo Muani has been excellent for Eintracht Frankfurt this season, and he has picked up 14 goals and 14 assists across all competitions. The 24-year-old is expected to develop into a top-class player in the near future. And Real Madrid could certainly use attacking reinforcements.
Los Blancos are overly dependent on Karim Benzema and Vinicius junior in the final third. So Carlo Ancelotti needs to add more depth to the Real Madrid attacking department. The 24-year-old French international could prove to be a quality long-term investment for the Spanish club. And it remains to be seen whether Real Madrid are prepared to pay his exorbitant asking price.
The World Cup finalist is valued at €100 million. And Real Madrid might not be keen on shelling out that kind of money for an unproven talent. Kolo Muani is yet to prove himself outside of the Bundesliga. And it remains to be seen whether the German club are prepared to scale down their demands to a more reasonable level.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are keen on signing the player as well, and the Reds will probably have to pay a club-record fee to sign him. Given the fact that the Reds need to improve their midfield options as well, it seems highly unlikely that they will splash €100 million on a forward this summer.
Kolo Muani has the potential to develop into a quality forward, and he has the potential to play for top clubs as well. However, moving to Real Madrid or Liverpool might not be ideal for the 2022 World Cup finalist right now.
He needs to play regularly to continue his development. And he will face competition from players like Darwin Nunez and Karim Benzema at the two clubs. The Frenchman should look to continue at the Bundesliga club for now and look to continue his development with regular game time.
