Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing 20-year-old Barcelona forward Ansu Fati.
According to a report by Mundo Deportivo, as relayed by Sport Witness, Arsenal and Tottenham have joined the race for Barcelona prodigy Ansu Fati. Around four Premier League clubs are keeping an eye on Fati’s situation at FC Barcelona. Arsenal and Spurs are two of the clubs who want to sign the talented winger.
Ansu Fati has been a huge prospect of the game for a while now. He has showcased glimpses of what he possesses. But, the world is yet to see what he is fully capable of. Unfortunately for him, it might not happen at Barcelona.
Fati has come through the ranks at Barcelona and found himself amongst the stars during his teenage years. He was compared to the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar, and there was a lot of hype around him. And to an extent, he did showcase the potential he had. But, injuries have ruined his dream start at Barcelona.
The 20-year-old has been sidelined with injuries on different occasions in the past year or two. He has hardly been consistent on the pitch, and it might have affected his place in the team. He is no longer a regular starter in the XI.
Fati has made 30 appearances so far this season, but a majority of those have been as a substitute. He has been on the pitch for only 1,116 minutes out of the possible 2,700 minutes. This indicates that his game time on average has been less than half of the total. He has only started seven out of the 19 La Liga matches that he has featured in.
His situation at the club has not gone unnoticed in the European football market. The big sharks are monitoring his situation. While there is no concrete offer on the table yet but there is a lot of interest in him. But Arsenal and Tottenham will fancy their chances of snapping up the Barcelona prodigy.
Manchester United and Bayern Munich are amongst those who are interested in having the services of the 20-year-old. Super agent Jorge Mendes represents Ansu Fati. If situations don’t improve at Barca for the Spanish forward, Mendes would love to pass on the wonder kid to another European giant who can offer him the game time he needs to excel.
