Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur are planning to sign 25-year-old French forward Marcus Thuram.

According to a report by AS, as relayed by Sport Witness, Tottenham Hotspur are ready to battle it out for the signature of Marcus Thuram in the summer transfer window of 2023. Spurs are interested in acquiring the services of the Frenchman for a while now. But, they did not push for his signatures in the recently concluded January window.

Marcus Thuram’s contract at Borussia Monchengladbach ends in the summer. He will be a free agent, which makes it easier for the club to sign him. But, Tottenham will face competition from different teams across Europe.

Thuram joined Borussia Monchengladbach back in the summer of 2019. Ever since he joined the club, he has put in some exceptional performances. He has decided not to renew his contract and is looking to move to a Champions League club.

The French forward has played 121 matches for the German club. During his time at the club, the 25-year-old has been directly involved in 67 goals, scoring 41 and creating the remaining 26. The son of former French international player Lilian Thuram is a serious talent.

The 25-year-old prefers to play as a number nine but can also play out wide on the left-hand side if needed. In the ongoing season, he has taken his game to the next level. The Frenchman is on fire. In his 19 appearances so far this season, he has scored 13 goals and assisted four. Those are numbers any forward would be proud of.

Atletico Madrid have been interested in signing Thuram for a while. They enquired about his services in the winter transfer window. But, Gladbach wanted a fee of around €10-12 million. As a result, Los Rojiblancos decided to hold back and wait for the summer when he will be a free agent.

Atletico Madrid are not the only club interested in him. Arsenal and Liverpool also have their eyes on him. So, it is going to be a difficult job for Tottenham to land him. A lot will depend on where Spurs finish in the league. If they manage to finish in the Champions League spot things might be a touch easy for them. But, if they fail other clubs involved might take advantage.
